Claude Code
Use your existing Claude Code installation and discover dheeX models automatically.
Use Claude Code 2.1.312 or later. Merge this one-time allowlist into ~/.claude/settings.json, preserving your other settings:
{
"availableModels": ["dheex-claude"],
"modelOverrides": {
"claude-opus-4-8": "dheex-claude-default"
}
}The override gives Default a recognized client profile and a 1M context window. Requests still use the dheeX model. It removes the generic Default recognition warning without keeping a local model list.
Export your dheeX API key as DHEEX_API_KEY, then configure your terminal:
export ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL=https://api.dheex.ai/claude
export ANTHROPIC_AUTH_TOKEN="$DHEEX_API_KEY"
export ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=
export ANTHROPIC_DEFAULT_MODEL=dheex-claude-default
export CLAUDE_CODE_ENABLE_GATEWAY_MODEL_DISCOVERY=1
export CLAUDE_CODE_MAX_OUTPUT_TOKENS=16384Start Claude Code normally:
claudeOpen /model. Claude fetches the models available to your key from dheeX at startup. The picker shows Default and the available dheeX models. When dheeX adds another model to your account, restart Claude to see it. You do not need to edit this allowlist or maintain a local model list.
Run /status to confirm the base URL is https://api.dheex.ai/claude. Default uses a model your key can access. Choose another discovered model with /model. Keep the exports in your shell configuration for new terminals.
The Claude endpoint translates medium effort to high and xhigh to max. Low, high, and max keep their selected effort. Requests use your existing customer key, model permissions, and usage accounting.
Switch from the previous setup
Remove the old modelPicker block and any fixed model setting from your Claude user settings. Replace the old per-model availableModels list with the prefix above. A replacing modelPicker hides discovered models.
Remove the previous ANTHROPIC_MODEL, ANTHROPIC_DEFAULT_*_MODEL, and CLAUDE_CODE_SUBAGENT_MODEL exports from your shell setup. Open a new terminal and use the exports above, including the new base URL.
Understand startup warnings
A restricted-model warning for an old DeepSeek ID or opus[1m]means a previous model pin is still active. Remove that fixed model setting and its shell export, then restart Claude. The prefix allowlist permits discovered dheeX IDs.
If Default is reported as unrecognized with a 200k context window, add the override above and restart. Other discovered IDs can still produce a recognition warning; discovery does not supply every model's client profile. An MCP authentication warning is separate: use /mcpto authenticate or disable the affected server.
